1
Understand hormonal changes in the second half of the cycle
Testing Progesterone and Estradiol after ovulation helps to identify hormonal imbalances that can cause PMS symptoms or perimenopausal complaints.
2
Monitor progesterone levels before a planned pregnancy.
Monitoring progesterone levels in the luteal phase is crucial for successful implantation and maintaining an early pregnancy.
Low levels can indicate an inadequate luteal phase, which can result in implantation problems or miscarriages.
Estradiol
It is the most important female sex hormone and is produced by the ovaries. It plays a central role in ovulation and other key functions, including maintaining bone and vascular health. Too high values can promote water retention.
Progesterone
Progesterone is the most important hormone in the luteal phase. It prepares the body for pregnancy. It plays an important role in the development of PMS and perimenopausal symptoms.
1
Recording your personal history and setting goals
We start by taking a joint look at your female health, your personal cycle and any associated symptoms. It is also a time to discuss your goals and expectations.
2
Detailed review and step-by-step explanation of your results
The focus is on analyzing the hormonal balance of the second half of the cycle and the correlation with your symptoms. In addition, ovulation can be reliably detected during pregnancy planning.
3
Medical advice with a focus on lifestyle, well-being and family planning
Receive specific advice on optimizing hormonal balance and reducing symptoms, ideal for understanding the female cycle and fertility. If needed, the desire for children can also be discussed in detail, with referrals to specialized centers.
Our Ovulation Add-on is not suitable for women who use hormonal contraception or have only stopped using it in the last 2-3 months
Hormonal contraception can affect the interpretation of the results. Hormonal contraception includes the pill (combined oestrogen and progestogen or progestogen only), Nuvaring, Implanon, 3-monthly injections and hormonal IUDs.
The blood sample must be taken around day 21 of the menstrual cycle
This applies to regular 28-day cycles. For cycles of different lengths, adjust accordingly: subtract 7 days from your average cycle length. For example, if your cycle is 33 days, the blood sample should be taken around day 26 (+/- 1 day). The first day of the cycle is the first day of normal bleeding.
Book the Ovulation Add-on as part of your Check-up, whether you're planning a pregnancy or want to better understand the root of PMS, migraines, or menopause symptoms.
